Around the world, nearly 800 million people don’t have access to clean drinking water. That’s 1 in every 9 people around the globe! Water is crucial to our survival, and the effect of not having enough water could be fatal. About 84% of the people who don’t have access to clean water live in rural areas where they live mainly through subsistence agriculture. Subsistence agriculture is a self-sufficiency farming system where farmers focus on growing enough crops to support themselves and their entire family.
When people don't have access to the amount of water they need to consume each day, many bad things will occur. This issue needs to be put into mind because of its importance to our society as a whole. Even if people have access to enough water, it is typically not clean. For instance, most water in the world has harmful bacteria in it that can cause diseases.
Imagine living in an area where clean water is not accessible to you or your family. Many people are going through this struggle every day.
